Lack of communication or breakdown in communication causes many marriages to fail . This is a “biggie”and probably causes more marriage problems than people most realize. Minor misunderstandings can become major misunderstandings when communication is lacking.
Lack of commitment is another one of the reasons marriages end . Commitment to each other and to the marriage is vital. When you are committed you have the best interest of your spouse and your marriage at heart in everything you do. Lack of commitment shows itself by marriage partners who look out for themselves before thinking of their partner or their marriage
Loss of trust is another reason why marriages fail . When you can’t be certain that your spouse will not hurt you emotionally, trust dies. You and your spouse should be able to count on the other to be truthful in what you say and what you do. Once trust is lost it is extremely hard to regain. Do you “Say what you mean and mean what you say?”.
Lack of acceptance is yet another reason for a failing marriage . Do you accept your spouse for who and what they are, or are you constantly trying to change them into your idea of who they should be? Marrying someone and expecting to change them is unrealistic and asking for problems down the road.
