Saving A Marriage by Finding the Positives
While struggling with marriage problems, it is easy to focus on what is wrong. You need to fix whatever is wrong, but you also need to latch onto and work with whatever is right in your marriage. Problems in a marriage don’t just appear out of nowhere, they have a beginning. The same can be said for everything good and positive about your relationship. When most people look at saving a marriage, they only look at what the problems are. They forget to take a look back at the beginning of their relationship to find the positives.
Looking back at your time as a dating couple and as newlyweds, forces you to see all the good that was there in the beginning. Whether you have been married for many years or only a few, if you seriously want to improve your marriage, you need to look back to find and work with the strengths that your relationship had in the beginning.
Thinking back, ask yourself what brought the two of you together. Try to remember the qualities that initially attracted you to each other. What were your shared goals and dreams? What were your plans for the future?
Taking the time to think through the early months and years of your relationship is one of the most important steps you can take in saving your marriage. Chances are that the things that attracted you to in the first place, still exist, they have just been pushed aside and covered up with problems.
The worse your marriage problems are the harder it will be to find positive aspects of your relationship, but positives do exist, otherwise you would have never gotten married in the first place.
Now that you have taken a look at what the strong points were in your relationship in the beginning, you can use this and build on these strengths to help to restore your marriage. Saving a marriage is hard work but it is possible. For more help, click here now.
